The basic work-out routine is as follows:
Stand about a foot away from the step bench. Take you first step up onto the platform with one foot and then follow with you second foot. Then bring down the first foot followed by the second. When you bring your foot back down make sure to put your toes down first and then lower your heel down to the ground. You can choose which foot to step up with first depending on whether you are right or left footed. You should aim to keeps your weight distributed while working out as this will reduce the stress on your feet. Make sure to begin at a slow pace and aim to pick up the pace over time. You will be able to move faster and start including arm movements as you practice more and become familiar to the stepping movements.
When doing step aerobics work outs it is advisable to wear good fitting clothing and a decent pair of trainers.
